Building a Medical AI Brand That Recruits Expert Talent
How do we build credibility with medical experts?
Following a contract with one of the largest medical companies, AllianceLabs needed to establish a brand identity that would attract medical specialists and educate them on using the annotation platform. The brand needed to communicate precision, expertise, and health while appealing to highly specialized pathologists.
A Strategic Identity Rooted in Medical Expertise
I developed a comprehensive visual identity through stakeholder discovery, strategic logo design, and innovative 3D visualization that made complex medical content approachable.
Brand Discovery & Strategy
I interviewed co-founders and pathologists to understand what the brand represented, then validated findings through team sessions. Three core concepts emerged: precision, expertise, and health. Following principles from industry leaders, I established three logo criteria: appropriate, distinctive, and simple.
Logo Development
I explored multiple directions and presented three refined options to the team. Option 2 was unanimously selected, which I then refined using the golden ratio for visual balance and explored color variations to ensure versatility across applications.

Educational Materials Development
I designed comprehensive annotation scoring guidelines for pathologists, interviewing internal medical experts and prototyping on Google Slides for rapid validation. The guidelines educated pathologists on platform usage, all while adhering to NDA and HIPAA regulations.

As an additional visual exploration, I experimented with Cinema 4D to create 3D representations of the platform's simple shapes (circles, triangles, squares). These rendered compositions became title covers, offering an alternative approach to making technical medical content more approachable while maintaining professional credibility.





The Outcome
The brand identity launched successfully on schedule, enabling rapid pathologist recruitment and the fulfillment of a critical project for a top-tier medical partner.

Expert Recruitment: The new brand identity was instrumental in recruiting 150+ specialist pathologists to the platform.

Accessible & Compliant: All deliverables met WCAG 2.0 standards and adhered to strict HIPAA requirements, ensuring both broad accessibility and data security.
